Together We Can Change the World! Celebrating International Women's Day 2020 with Nicole Rowan

International Women's Day is this Sunday, March 8 2020. It's a day of #EachforEqual because an equal world is an enabled world.

In honour of IWD, I'm chatting to Nicole Rowan, the Visionary Founder of Australian Women's Day to celebrate women, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality.

As Nicole so beautifully puts it, "International and Australian Women's Day is NOT a day of rage or anger but love, respect and honour. We are inviting men, women and those who identify as non-binary to tell us how beautiful, valuable and important we are to our culture."

Please help forge a gender-equal world by listening and sharing this powerful podcast episode. Together we CAN change the world!

Nicole Rowan is the Visionary Founder of Australian Women's Day

As the creator of two multi-million dollar businesses, Nicole has always had an eye for the bigger vision.  Now her greatest vision is coming to life in the creation of Australian Women’s Day. Nicole desires to bring women home to the Village from a place of service and love, as she knows in her heart that when one woman rises, we all rise.

International Women's Day is powered by the collective efforts of all

Collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity are what makes International Women's Day successful.

Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained,

"The story of women's struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organisation but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights."

So make International Women's Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.

"What about International Men's Day?"

Nicole

Why is that we can't even take up space in our own hearts and on the calendar for women?

Why can't we pause for a second and push that pleasure ceiling up and honour ourselves? Why is it that we automatically ask, "what about the men?" Because culturally we sit under an umbrella of "mateship".

Ask yourself why you went straight to the service of our men when statistics all show that they have a lot of space, in sports, in Government in corporations, they have a strong voice.

"What about International Men's Day?" is a very quick and small response to ask and it requires reflection.

Let's Take Up Space & Celebrate Women!

Nicole

International and Australian Women's Day is NOT a day of rage or anger but love, respect and honour. We are inviting men, women and those who identify as non-binary to tell us how beautiful, valuable and important we are to our culture.

This is not an anti-male day, it's the exact opposite because we are not just female. We are male and female energy types that come together in our bodies and we're inviting our men to step into their feminine side and connect to that because if they did we would not bein the place that we're in today.

This is a day of people, women, men, non-binary people celebrating woman and the other woman that we also need to celebrate on this day called country and how she supports us.

Our country is the mother and if we're looking after her everybody is looked after. It is not just a human day it is connection to the feminine in all of us.

I want to take a moment to celebrate women. Women alone have power, but women together have impact and together we can change the world.

Australian Women’s Day is a 100% volunteer-run organisation. If you would like to volunteer in 2020 send an email to gidday@australianwomensday.com

Nicole is asking you to bring a plate to the table. If you were going to a dinner party you would bring a plate, so what could you offer? Time, money, awareness, conversation?
