I wanted to film this podcast episode for you because I am feeling so motivated and inspired at the moment and I wanted to share the passion with you all.

It's the 22nd of September and I've just gotten back from the Australian Women's Day event here in Melbourne, Australia (dah). I have a huge fire burning in my belly after listen to some of the keynote speakers Angel Phoenix Arsenal (formerly known as Angela_Aallo) and the Queen of Confidence, Erika Cramer.

These women are absolute trailblazers and I feel so lucky to have been apart of the day to hear them speak and connected with them in person because they both have such beautiful souls.

Together We Lead Summit, was created to empower women in leadership and impact and Australian Women’s Day is a celebration of the women and girls of Australia. Gathering women together to create impactful social change.

It was a beautiful day to connect with women I'd never met before, a day to share stories , to take a stand and to create a revo-LOVE-tion!

I thought it was important to share what I took from the day because they say if you're learning but you're not sharing it with others then you're not really absorbing it.

So this episode is not only to try and light a fire under your ass but also to keep the fire burning inside of me and continue to educate myself on women empowerment, taking up space and what it means to continually evolve and truly love yourself.

Stop letting your ego get in your way

One of the main themes that I felt drawn to was something Angel spoke about and that was we need to stop letting our ego get in the way.

When you think about your ego, you probably think about someone who has a massively annoying or over the top ego however, your ego may appear in many different forms.

As women, our ego usually appears in our minds as the stories we tell ourselves. The stories like "I'm too fat to do blah" or "I'm not worth listening to" or I shouldn't be taking up space because I'm not worthy" or "I've just always been shy". Whatever it is that you're telling yourself, that's just your ego trying to get in your way of what you should be doing.

We can't always avoid these stories but what we can do is realise when they're happening, identify that our ego is trying to get in our way and overcome the stories we tell ourselves.

You need to get comfortable with the darkness, whatever it is your struggling with in life, whether it's an eating disorder, an abusive relationship, acne, you feel unworthy, whatever it is, face it.

Tackle it head-on and learn to dance with your demons because that's how you're going to become confident and stop letting your ego get in the way.

Please connect!
